About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join its executive leadership team. The CFO will be a strategic partner, leading the organization's financial strategy, planning, accounting, reporting, risk management, and business analysis. This role requires a seasoned finance executive with a strong background in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations, capable of balancing near-term financial performance with the development of long-range financial models to support sustainable growth and operational excellence. The CFO will also be responsible for team leadership, budgeting, forecasting, and strengthening the organization's financial literacy. The ideal candidate will have a progressive senior financial leadership experience, a proven track record in financial management, and the ability to work closely with the President, CEO, and Board of Directors. Key responsibilities include leading the annual budgeting process, overseeing all accounting operations, and ensuring compliance with nonprofit accounting standards. The CFO will also be involved in enterprise risk management, and technology, and process improvement, and will champion the use of modern financial systems and tools. A Bachelor's degree is required, with a preference for a CPA, MBA, or advanced degree in a related field. The successful candidate will be mission-driven, with a strong commitment to the organization's work in conservation and outdoor recreation.
