RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist in the operations of MWR Food and Beverage businesses, creating an attractive and friendly environment, and maintaining product quality, cleanliness, and inventory. Adhere to safety regulations and standards. Perform frontend duties such as welcoming customers, maintaining product knowledge, assisting with product selection, operating the Point of Sale register, and collecting cash or credit card payments. Prepare, package and serve made‑to‑order beverages, snacks and readily assembled or prepared food items. Set up food service counters and side service stands with hot and cold foods and beverages, including desserts and condiments. Assist with the preparation of pizzas and daily lunch specials using a hot grill; slice meats, prepare sandwiches and wraps; wash, peel, slice, seed vegetables for salads and other dishes. Prepare malts, ice cream sundaes, and scoop ice cream. Use an espresso machine to make specialty coffees and drinks. Properly clean all kitchen equipment, perform simple preventative maintenance, and keep the dining area clean and appealing. Wash dishes, pots, pans, and coffee urn; operate a mechanical dishwasher. Follow store policies and procedures for operational flow, merchandising, stocking, rotating and storing all products, and maintain awareness of inventory waste or shrink. Perform periodic stock counts or participate in inventories. Perform other related duties as required, such as maintaining food safety and sanitation standards, sweeping and mopping floors, disposing of food waste and trash, and assisting with unloading and storing supplies. Employee must be able to work evenings and weekends and have excellent customer service skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

One year work experience in a food service facility. Proficiency in math skills necessary to calculate patron bills and take inventory. Basic food preparation and handling techniques. Knowledge of basic sanitation principles in handling and serving food. Capability to lift and move objects up to 40 pounds, and frequently walk, bend, stoop, pull, push, and reach. Ability to read and understand written material and follow instructions. Must obtain a Food Handlers Certificate and/or complete Food Handler’s Training within 30 days of appointment. Customer service experience. Residency Requirements: Non‑U.S. nationals, authorized to work in the U.S., must have resided within the U.S. or U.S. territories for at least three of the last five years. Required to participate in Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer as the standard method of payment. Must register with the Selective Service System if applicable; provide written statement regarding registration status. Must satisfactorily complete a Federal Background check and meet all pre‑employment requirements. Applicants may not be employed in the chain of command of their relatives.
