We are seeking a Certified Billing Specialist with deep expertise in ASC billing to join our team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is confident in navigating complex payer requirements. Position Summary The Certified Billing Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant billing for surgical procedures performed in our ASC. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with insurance billing, payment posting, appeals, and denials management, along with a strong command of surgical terminology and coding standards. Key Responsibilities Prepare and submit accurate medical claims for ASC services to Medicare, HMOs, and commercial payers. Review and interpret EOBs , remittance advice, and payer correspondence. Apply correct ICD‑10 , CPT , and HCPCS codes for surgical procedures and related services. Process insurance payments, adjustments, and patient balances with precision. Manage appeals and denials , including researching payer policies, drafting appeal letters, and tracking outcomes. Communicate with payers to resolve claim issues and ensure timely reimbursement. Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to clarify documentation and coding needs. Maintain compliance with ASC billing regulations and payer-specific guidelines. Protect patient confidentiality and always adhere to HIPAA standards. Required Qualifications Certification: Certified Professional Biller (CPB), Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS), or equivalent. Experience: Minimum 3 years of medical billing experience, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center or surgical specialty practice. Strong understanding of ASC billing , payer rules, and reimbursement methodologies. Proficiency in ICD‑10 , CPT , and HCPCS coding for surgical procedures. Demonstrated expertise in appeals and denials processes for Medicare and commercial payers. Solid knowledge of surgical terminology and operative documentation. Excellent analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision. Experience with medical billing software and electronic health record systems. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience with ASC-specific billing platforms. Knowledge of payer-specific ASC fee schedules and bundling rules. Familiarity with revenue cycle KPIs and reporting.
