LOCATION OF POSITION: Fairport NY 14450; Midwest Region Partnership Center -15 Linden Park

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Full Time; 10-month plus 20 days. Long Term Substitute Assignment through June 2026 with potential employment through November 2026

START DATE: As Soon As Possible

SALARY RANGE: $53,350 - $86,508 per school year .. Final salary offer will be prorated based on duration of Long-Term Substitute Assignment

DESCRIPTION: As a member of the NYSED Office of Special Education Educational Partnership, specialists will provide regional trainings, targeted support, and embedded coaching to Educational Organizations (school districts and non-district providers), families, and stakeholders identified through the regional planning process. This position does not include direct service to students. For more information on the Educational Partnership visit:

DUTIES:

1. Provide professional development and support to Educational Organizations, families, and stakeholders throughout the Greater Rochester region on culturally responsive practices that inform the relationship between teaching, learning and cultural context, as well as training related to effective instructional programs and practices for students who are multilingual/English language learners with suspected or identified disabilities.

2. Facilitate school and district teams in analyzing disaggregated data to identify trends related to disproportionality in systems, practices, and student outcomes.

3. Provide targeted professional development and technical assistance directly aligned to gaps in implementation of a Culturally Responsive-Sustaining Education framework identified through a needs assessment and root cause analysis process.

4. Work collaboratively with all members of the Educational Partnership to carry out the regional workplan to improve outcomes for students with disabilities in a coordinated and cohesive manner.

5. Engage in capacity building activities with identified districts as prescribed by the New York State Department of Education and the Regional Planning Process.

6. Utilize tools, training materials and processes developed by the Technical Assistance Partnerships (TAPs) and approved by NYSED to provide Professional Development and Technical Assistance to stakeholders in the region.

7. Regular travel across Monroe 1, Monroe 2, Wayne-Finger Lakes, and Genesee Valley BOCES regions.

8. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Master's degree or higher is required. NYS Certification in special education, education, psychology, school psychology, school counseling, and/or a related field preferred

2. Five years of experience as a teacher, school counselor, school psychologist, transition coordinator, or related service provider with students with disabilities preferred

3. Experience in providing professional development is required and experience in coaching and engaging in school improvement work is preferred

4. Possess and demonstrate effective communication skills and demonstrate ability to collaborate and facilitate school improvement teams

5. Knowledge of federal and state special education law, regulations, and policy, and the Culturally Responsive-Sustaining Education framework

6. Physically able to perform essential functions of the position (with or without reasonable accommodation).
