The Facilities Assistant II performs regular inspections of Direct Marketing Solutions (DMS) facilities and repairs any damage to the building or furniture.

Equipment Maintenance Specialist I, Equipment Maintenance Specialist II, Facilities & Maintenance Manager

Essential Functions

• Inspects office and production areas for damage to tables, chairs, walls, etc., and makes repairs under the direction of the Facilities & Maintenance Manager (FMM).
• General building maintenance, painting, heating and cooling.
• Reports any safety concerns to the Training & Safety Manager immediately upon detection.
• Undertakes occasional seasonal tasks, such as shoveling snow from the sidewalk, setting up chairs and tables, etc.
• Maintains the parking lot and performs superficial building exterior repairs.
• Operates pallet jacks to move supplies, inventory, etc., in support of a safe work environment.
• Sweeps and mops up spills on the production floor.

Additional Responsibilities

• Completes additional assignments and special projects from the Facilities & Maintenance Manager as needed.
• Demonstrates behavior consistent with DMS Values and the Code of Conduct.
• Learns and adheres to all information technology and data security policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures.
• Learns and adheres to DMS rules and established policies for workplace health and safety.
• Adheres to all other DMS policies and procedures.
• Completes all required compliance training on time and in good faith.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 6 months to 1 year of relevant experience
• Strong verbal communication skills
• Good problem-solving skills
• Ability to effectively manage a range of projects and prioritize tasks
• Valid driver's license

Physical Demands

This position involves frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of objects up to 25 lbs. in weight and occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of objects up to 50 lbs. in weight. Employees are on their feet for extended periods of time and moving constantly. This position also involves constant handling of direct mail product and frequent reaching outwards or above the shoulders.
