Senior Software EngineerAkamai Technologies, Inc. is hiring for the following role in Cambridge, MA (multiple openings): Senior Software Engineer. Perform software engineering duties in furtherance of design and implementation of custom web applications in the realms of internet security, content delivery, APIs, and/or cloud computing; design, implement, automate, and support all aspects of the product; participate in the architecture, design, development, testing, implementation, maintenance, and support of software solutions; develop new applications, improve current systems and bring new capabilities to our customers; contribute to our automated test suite, including unit, functional, integration, and end-to-end tests in labs and QA environments; improve current functionality and bring new features to the software platform. Telecommuting permitted from anywhere within the United States.Required Qualification: Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Networking, or telecommunications Engineering, plus two (2) years of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.Must have: two (2) years of experience with the following: debugging and troubleshooting; distributed systems; web technologies such as J2EE, Rest, and Spring; algorithms; secure software design and architecture; scripting languages such as Perl, Python, or Unix shell scripts; Microsoft SQL Server; and web services development.At Akamai, we make life better for billions of people, trillions of times a day. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $138,237 - $218,600/year; a candidate's salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
