Summary This position is with the U. S. Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), within the Directorate of Standards and Guidance (DSG), located in Washington, DC. This position is at the full performance level. This position is inside the bargaining unit. This position is NOT remote. Selectee will be expected to report to the office above. Responsibilities Duties of the Regulatory Specialist position include, but are not limited to, the following: Serving as a team member on health standards development projects providing information and assistance on the Paperwork Reduction Act. Participating in the preparation of the annual Information Collection Budget, taking a leading role in developing and managing a plan to reduce and minimize record keeping and reporting burdens. Reviewing the background, requirements, and regulatory impacts of OSHA health and safety standards and utilizing the information to develop information collection and paperwork packages. Advising senior level staff of potential problems during the approval process that may impact required Paperwork Reduction Act timeframes. Planning and managing a regulatory paperwork schedule involving competing and changing priorities. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Specialized Experience is the experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform the duties of the position successfully, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, GS-12, in the Federal Service. Qualifying specialized experience for the GS-13 includes: Interpreting regulatory requirements, analyzing and justifying information collection burdens, and/or preparing supporting documentation. Working on teams to address burdens and costs, and related activities, imposed by regulations on respondents. Applied knowledge of the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, Information Quality Act of 2000, and/or related regulatory policies.
