Facilities Maintenance Technician / Ranch Maintenance

Natural Encounters, Inc. – Winter Haven, FL $19–$22 per hour | Full-Time

Natural Encounters, Inc. (NEI) is seeking a dependable Facilities Maintenance Technician to support operations at our Ranch facility in Winter Haven, Florida.

This hands-on role focuses on building maintenance, equipment repair, construction support, and facility upkeep across our working ranch and animal training facility. The technician helps maintain buildings, habitats, tools, and infrastructure that support daily operations and the highest standards of animal care.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general building maintenance and repairs
• Assist with construction, carpentry, and structural improvements to animal enclosures and facilities
• Maintain fencing, gates, habitats, and facility infrastructure
• Conduct preventative maintenance on tools, equipment, and ranch systems
• Troubleshoot mechanical and facility issues as they arise
• Operate equipment including tractors, lifts, chainsaws, mowers, and power tools
• Maintain irrigation systems and assist with plumbing repairs when needed
• Maintain and organize facility tools and maintenance equipment
• Identify safety hazards and proactively resolve maintenance issues
• Support property upkeep including mowing, trimming, and landscaping when needed

Preferred Experience

Experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Facilities maintenance or building maintenance
• Construction, carpentry, or property maintenance
• Equipment operation and mechanical repair
• Plumbing or irrigation systems
• Fence installation or ranch maintenance
• Habitat or enclosure construction

Requirements

• Comfortable performing hands-on repair and maintenance work
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Comfortable working outdoors in Florida conditions
• Valid Florida driver's license (or ability to obtain within 60 days)
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently

Compensation

$19–$22 per hour, based on experience.
