Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

In this contract position, you'll split your time between two welcoming middle schools, just a short distance apart. This role focuses on both co-taught and resource classes specifically for 8th grade students, providing invaluable support where it's needed most.

• Professional certification in Special Education (LBSI or equivalent for Illinois)
• Solid experience with resource supports and instructional strategies

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality instruction in a dual-school setting: half day at each middle school (5 minutes apart)
• Provide individualized and small-group support in resource classes (approx. 8-10 students per group)
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers during co-taught classes
• Monitor, assess, and report student progress, adjusting supports as needed
• Participate in required staff hours, including regular school hours and, as applicable, new teacher orientation
• Foster a supportive classroom climate that encourages student growth and confidence

Additional Details:

• Full-time contract position, 35 hours weekly plus a daily lunch break
• School year runs August 17, 2026, through May 28, 2027 (potential to attend new teacher orientation prior to the start date)
