Linked In: Work Location: W233 N2080 Ridgeview Pkwy, Suite 301, Waukesha, WI 53188 Work Format: Hybrid - typically 4 days/week onsite, 1 day/week remote Summary: We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our growing team! This person will work on a variety of client assignments including the preparation of accounting work papers supporting the issuance of compiled, reviewed, and audited financial statements. This person will also complete the work papers and preparation of corporate, partnership, and individual income tax returns. The Staff Accountant will work under the direction of a Senior Accountant on entry level assignments within the public accounting practice. Exposure to this wide variety of tasks will provide the building blocks for career progression within our firm over time to more advanced roles and projects in the future. What You'll Do: The Staff Accountant will become acquainted with the accounting & income tax techniques necessary to participate in the engagement under the training & direction of Senior Accountant in an effective and efficient manner for the delivery of Accounting & Income Tax Services. Develop the professional knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, income tax reporting rules & regulations, and financial statement presentations including financial disclosures. Obtain an understanding of the client's accounting practices and generally accepted accounting practices and industry. Develop a working knowledge of the financial accounting and income tax procedures & processes learned within your college studies. Proactively interact with key firm Senior & Manager level personnel to gather information, resolve problems, and make recommendations for business and process improvements. Perform other job-related duties as assigned by superiors whenever required. What We're Looking For: 1+ years' experience in Accounting. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required. CPA certification (or working toward) is a plus. Solid technical accounting knowledge, analytical, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Strong motivation to excel, high degree of interest in learning, seeks training and mentoring from Senior Accountant. Ability to thrive in a dynamic team environment. Professionalism, dependability, integrity and trustworthiness combined with a cooperative attitude. Highly motivated self-starter with ability to multitask and complete assignments within time constraints and deadlines. Dedicated to superior client service.
