Paralegal

We are seeking an experienced Paralegal to support our attorneys in Real Estate Law, Litigation, and Debt Collections matters. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of relevant experience and be able to manage files, coordinate filings and other documents for litigation and/or transactional matters, prepare legal documents for attorney review, and communicate professionally with clients, debtors, court personnel, and other parties within a fast-paced work environment. Key Responsibilities Debt Collections & Recovery: Prepare drafts of written communications, including demand letters, payment agreements, complaints, and entry of judgment documents; manage high-volume collection workflows under attorney supervision. Communicate professionally with debtors and clients related to debt collections. Prepare and coordinate post-judgment enforcement mechanisms, including wage garnishments, bank levies, writs of execution, and debtor examinations for attorney review. Real Estate Transactions: Assist attorneys with residential real estate transactions, including drafting communications, coordinating closings, handling of all pre-closing procedures, and closing document preparation. Litigation & Public Records: Prepare pleadings, motions, and discovery for collections and other litigation for attorney review. Conduct asset/title searches, and municipal/land record searches. File pleadings and motions with Courts of Common Pleas and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. Communication: Serve as a direct point of contact for clients, debtors and court staff, while tracking deadlines, statutory notice periods and court dates. Qualifications & Requirements Minimum of 3 years of paralegal or legal assistant experience, with direct focus on real estate transactions and debt collection litigation. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies. ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate preferred. Notary registration preferred but not required. General understanding of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), state debt collection statutes, and real estate closing procedures. Experience with legal research tools (LexisNexis), debt collection management software, county land recording portals, e-filing systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
