Physician - Pain Medicine, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

Overview West Virginia University Health System, the state's largest health system and largest private employer, comprises 18 hospitals and includes institutes and management services for other local hospitals through affiliate agreements. Position and Location The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the West Virginia University School of Medicine invites applications for a Pain Medicine physiatrist (rank: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). The candidate will primarily practice in Wheeling, WV. Responsibilities Practice in physical medicine and rehabilitation and interventional spine and pain management. Provide excellent patient care and participate in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. Engage in clinical and basic science research where available and supported; participate in our integrated residency program in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Involve in electrodiagnostic evaluations and ultrasound-guided procedures as opportunities arise. Contribute to expanding outpatient services, including spasticity management, prosthetics, traumatic brain injury care, and other neuromuscular/neurologic disorders within a comprehensive neuroscience center. Qualifications MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent; eligible for state medical license. Completed Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency; board certified or board eligible in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Completed one year of NASS interventional spine and musculoskeletal fellowship, or ACGME-approved pain medicine fellowship, or ACGME interventional Sports Medicine fellowship; private practice fellowship acceptable. ACGME board eligible/certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine or interventional Sports Medicine, or certificate of completion from a NASS-Interventional Spine and MSK program or equivalent fellowship.
