As a Vertical Major Account Manager, Government & Education at Spectrum, you will serve as a trusted field-based sales consultant, creating tailored strategies and nurturing complex accounts to position Spectrum Business as the provider of choice for voice, video and data solutions. Your expertise will enable you to capture new opportunities, overcome challenges and deliver long-term value for high-profile clients.How You Will Make an ImpactDevelop and execute account pursuit strategies by conducting consultative needs analyses and collaborating with the Sales ManagerMonitor assigned accounts to identify revenue growth opportunities or service improvementsAchieve monthly and annual new revenue and renewal quotas by understanding and addressing the communication needs of strategic clientsPresent tailored proposals and facilitate sales presentations to resolve client business challengesExpand Spectrum Business's footprint by cultivating relationships with new and existing contacts through telephone outreach, cold calls, premise visits, networking and industry eventsQualify new leads, coordinate site surveys and submit return on investment analyses for sales management reviewMaintain accurate sales databases to report client information and sales activitiesCollaborate with Sales Engineering, Sales Support and Marketing teams to enhance the client experienceAttend sales meetings and training sessions to improve sales skills and stay informed on market trendsEnsure compliance with Spectrum policies to mitigate risks and support successful account managementWorking ConditionsOffice-based role with regular travel required to client locations within a specified footprintWhat You Will Bring to SpectrumRequired QualificationsEducationHigh school diploma or equivalent from an accredited organization (GED)Experience3+ years of enterprise sales experience exceeding revenue goalsSkillsRead, write, speak and understand EnglishDemonstrated history of consistently exceeding sales quotasStrong understanding of computer networking, LAN and WAN technologies, high-capacity and fiber-connected networksProven product and technical knowledgeEffective client relationship building, networking, negotiation and closing abilitiesAbility to multitask and work efficiently within deadlinesQuick learner able to apply knowledge and partner with support resources to drive account growthValid driver's license, safe driving record and willingness to travel as neededPreferred QualificationsEducationBachelor's degree in a business-related field or equivalent combination of education, training and experienceExperience3+ years of experience exceeding revenue goals selling data, voice and video solutions to Government & Education institutions.SkillsIn-depth knowledge of CRM systems such as SalesforceProficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and OutlookHere, our employees don't just have jobs, they're building careers. A qualified applicant's criminal history, if any, will be considered in a manner consistent with applicable laws, including local ordinances.The base pay for this position generally is between $57,400.00 and $104,800.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
