Senior Sales Professional, Agriculture
$200kTELUS Agriculture & Consumer Goods
*this position supports our Southeast US Agriculture sales territory from Texas to North Carolina and Florida and is open to applicants in the USA that are located in this region*
Join Our Team
TELUS Agriculture & Consumer Goods is looking for a hunter—a sales professional who thrives on prospecting, building pipeline, and closing new logos with major agricultural enterprises.
Your territory is the Southeast US. This is a prime agricultural market—a region dense with major farms, cooperatives, input suppliers, equipment manufacturers, food processing companies, and Fortune 500 enterprises navigating digital transformation. These customers are actively seeking trusted partners who understand their challenges and can position solutions that drive measurable results in Agronomy, Program Execution, and Supply Chain.
If you love the hunt, you're energized by opening new logos with enterprise customers, you thrive with autonomy and clear ownership, and you understand that enterprise deals require consultative partnership and relationship-building with C-suite decision-makers, this role is built for you.
You'll join a team driven by three core values:
- We passionately put our customers and communities first.
- We embrace change and innovate courageously.
- We grow together through spirited teamwork.
How You'll Be Successful
Territory Ownership:
You own the Southeast Territory entirely. Your primary focus is net-new logo development—prospecting, qualifying, and closing opportunities with major agricultural enterprises and industry-leading companies. You'll manage existing customer relationships in your region as needed to support your team and customer success, but hunting new business is where you drive your results and earnings.
What Defines You:
- You're a hunter first—you excel at prospecting through cold calls, networking, trade shows, online research, and strategic outreach. You don't wait for leads; you build your own pipeline with discipline and consistency
- You're consultative and strategic—you understand that enterprise agriculture deals require understanding customer priorities, business challenges, and positioning solutions aligned with their strategic objectives
- You work with autonomy and entrepreneurial mindset—you take ownership of your territory results and drive your own success without micromanagement
- You're energized by closing deals, particularly large ones with major enterprises, and you take pride in your closing ability
- You leverage internal resources strategically—subject matter experts, coaches, and other TELUS sales teams collaborate with you when appropriate, but you own the sales process and the relationship
- You have grit and resilience—enterprise sales cycles are long (12–24 months), and you stay committed, focused, and prospecting consistently to maintain pipeline momentum
Key Accountabilities:
- Own your territory and drive net-new logo development—prospecting, pipeline building, opportunity qualification, and closing
- Identify and pursue opportunities with major agricultural enterprises, industry-leading companies, and growth accounts that expand TELUS' footprint in the South
- Build compelling business cases that articulate TELUS Agriculture & Consumer Goods solutions and demonstrate clear value aligned with customer business objectives
- Develop trusted relationships with C-Suite and senior decision-makers, positioning yourself as a strategic advisor who understands their business
- Negotiate contracts with confidence and close deals through consultative partnership
- Manage your pipeline with discipline using Salesforce—track opportunities, forecast accurately, and maintain closing momentum
- Collaborate with Agronomy Solution Architects, Supply Chain Specialists, Program Execution Coaches, and other TELUS sales teams across agriculture, animal agriculture, and CPG solutions when appropriate to support complex deals and ensure customer success
- Support existing customer relationships in your territory as needed to enable your team and maintain customer satisfaction
- Demonstrate key sales competencies: Business Acumen, Critical Thinking, Customer Focus, Grit (energy and drive), and Collaboration
Sales Cycle Reality:
Enterprise agriculture deals vary in length—ranging from 12–24 months depending on opportunity size, customer complexity, and buying process. Success requires building a balanced pipeline with a mix of opportunity sizes and solution offerings at different stages of progression. You'll actively manage each opportunity to move it forward through key milestones, keep deals on track, and maintain consistent closing velocity. A strong funnel has early-stage opportunities, mid-stage deals progressing toward close, and near-term closes happening regularly. This approach ensures you're hitting targets while building the long-term relationships that fuel future growth.
What You'll Do
- Prospect relentlessly: Identify target accounts and decision-makers using cold calls, networking, industry events, LinkedIn research, and strategic outreach to build a robust pipeline
- Uncover real opportunities: Dig deeper than surface conversations to understand each prospect's business challenges, operational pain points, strategic priorities, and growth objectives
- Qualify with discipline: Move promising prospects through your pipeline with confidence, qualifying early to focus energy on high-probability deals aligned with TELUS solutions
- Present solutions with impact: Prepare compelling proposals and presentations for C-Suite and senior management that clearly communicate value, ROI, and strategic alignment with their business objectives
- Negotiate and close: Lead contract negotiations confidently and close deals through a consultative approach that builds trust and long-term partnerships
- Manage your pipeline: Use Salesforce to track opportunities rigorously, maintain accurate forecasts, and drive closing momentum
- Collaborate strategically: Partner with subject matter experts and other TELUS sales teams to deepen your solution knowledge, support complex deals, and ensure successful customer implementation and adoption
- Maintain customer success: Manage relationships with existing customers in your territory as needed to support your team, ensure satisfaction, and identify expansion opportunities
- Stay competitive: Continuously learn agriculture industry trends, competitive positioning, customer pain points, and emerging market opportunities in your territory
What You Bring
Required Experience & Skills:
- 6+ years of enterprise sales experience with a proven track record of hunting—prospecting, qualifying, and closing new logos in complex B2B environments where deal sizes are significant and sales cycles are long
- Agricultural or technology sales background: You have direct experience selling to agricultural enterprises, agricultural technology companies, agribusiness, or related industries and understand customer challenges, operations, and priorities
- Hunter mentality with consultative discipline: You love prospecting and closing deals AND you understand that enterprise sales require building relationships, understanding customer business objectives, and positioning tailored solutions
- Autonomous execution: You're entrepreneurial and comfortable working independently—you take ownership of territory results and drive your own success
- Enterprise selling capability: You can present confidently to C-Suite executives, build compelling business cases, navigate complex organizational decision-making, and negotiate contracts at significant deal sizes
- Business and technical acumen: You understand the financial and operational challenges agricultural enterprises face and can position technology solutions that drive measurable business impact
- Resilience and grit: You handle rejection constructively, stay motivated through long sales cycles without losing momentum, and persist when deals get complex
- Clear communication: You articulate complex solutions and value propositions with confidence, clarity, and credibility to executive-level audiences
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as required for customer meetings, industry events, and territory development
Great-to-Haves
- Professional sales certifications or formal training in consultative or solution-based selling methodologies (Sandler, Spin Selling, Challenger Sale, etc.)
- Established network or relationships within the agriculture and consumer goods industry in the South or Southwest US
- Proficiency with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms for pipeline management, forecasting, and sales operations
- Track record of closing large enterprise deals ($200K+) in complex B2B sales environments
- Experience selling to Fortune 500 or major enterprise customers in agriculture, technology, or related industries
- Understanding of modern agriculture operations, supply chain challenges, or digital transformation in food/agriculture/CPG sectors
What You Get
- Territory ownership with team collaboration: You own the Southeast Territory and drive results, with accountability for new logo development. You're empowered to build your territory independently—and you'll also collaborate with teammates on deals when it makes sense for the customer or the team. Flexibility to support shared opportunities and work cross-functionally strengthens our collective success
- Significant earning potential: Competitive base salary plus Sales Incentive Plan (SIP) that rewards your closing ability. Strong performers in this role earn meaningfully—your results directly impact your earnings
- Enterprise customer access: You'll build relationships with major agricultural enterprises and industry-leading companies, giving you visibility to senior leadership and C-suite executives
- Collaborative expertise: Access to dedicated subject matter experts in Agronomy, Supply Chain, Program Execution, and CPG solutions. You tap their expertise to support complex deals and deepen your solution knowledge
- Professional growth: Opportunities to obtain sales certifications, continuous learning and development, and career advancement as you prove your ability to open new logos and grow territory revenue
- Entrepreneurial culture: A team that values independence, celebrates big wins, and trusts hunters to drive their own success. You won't be micromanaged—you'll be empowered to execute
- Flexibility: Remote/hybrid work arrangement with the flexibility to work where you're most effective. You'll travel to customer meetings and territory events, but you control your calendar and work environment
- Clear advancement: Path to grow as you expand territory revenue—from individual contributor to team lead, larger territories, or strategic account management roles
- Comprehensive benefits: Full benefits package including health, dental, vision, 401(k) contributions, and recognition programs
Compensation: Competitive total rewards package including base salary and Sales Incentive Plan (SIP). Actual compensation determined based on knowledge, skills, experience, and demonstrated performance.
