Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Commonwealth Medical Services is excited to announce an opening for a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our dedicated team of mental health professionals. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate psychiatric care to individuals facing mental health challenges. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting thorough psychiatric assessments, formulating treatment plans, prescribing medication, and providing psychotherapy services. Our facility emphasizes a holistic approach to mental health, and you will work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure that patients receive comprehensive care tailored to their specific needs. As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner at Commonwealth Medical Services, you will be at the forefront of improving patient outcomes, promoting mental wellness, and advocating for mental health awareness in the community. Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for patients suffering from various mental health disorders
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans in collaboration with patients and their families
  • Prescribe and monitor psychiatric medications as needed
  • Provide individual and group psychotherapy based on evidence-based practices
  • Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment options
  • Maintain accurate and confidential medical records in accordance with confidentiality regulations
  • Participate in interprofessional meetings to discuss patient cases and enhance treatment approaches

Requirements

  • Current Nurse Practitioner license with psychiatric specialization in the state of practice
  • Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing with a focus on Psychiatric-Mental Health
  • Experience in mental health settings preferred
  • Strong clinical skills and familiarity with evidence-based psychiatric treatments
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to establish rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds
  • Commitment to ethical practice and continuous professional development
