Qualifications:

-Valid Indiana Special Education teaching license or appropriate teaching credential required

-Knowledge of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and differentiated instruction
-Ability to develop and implement individualized learning strategies
-Strong classroom management and communication skills
-Compassionate, patient, adaptable, and organized approach to teaching
-Ability to collaborate effectively with paraprofessionals, related service providers, families, and school staff

Schedule:

-Full-time position
-Elementary school setting
-Life Skills / Special Education (SPED) classroom
-ASAP start through the end of the school year
-School-based schedule

Responsibilities:

-Provide specialized instruction to elementary students with special education needs
-Develop and implement engaging, differentiated lessons aligned with students' IEP goals
-Support academic, behavioral, communication, social, and functional life-skill development
-Create a structured and positive classroom environment that promotes student success
-Monitor student progress and maintain accurate educational documentation
-Collaborate with special education teams, general education teachers, therapists, paraprofessionals, and families
-Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to individualized student goals and progress monitoring
-Adapt curriculum, instructional materials, and teaching strategies to meet diverse student needs
-Promote independence, confidence, and meaningful participation in the school community
