Junior Accountant

The Junior Accountant will support the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization, assisting with general ledger maintenance, accounts payable and receivable activities, month-end close processes, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate is highly organized, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a deadline-driven environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and posting of journal entries.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities.
• Perform account reconciliations, including bank, credit card, and balance sheet accounts.
• Process and verify accounts payable invoices and employee expense reports.
• Assist with accounts receivable, customer billing, and cash application activities.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Help prepare monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Track project-related expenses and provide support for production accounting activities.
• Assist with accruals, prepaid expenses, and fixed asset accounting.
• Support internal and external audit requests.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting procedures, and internal controls.
• Collaborate with production, operations, and administrative teams on accounting-related inquiries.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects as needed.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• 0-2 years of accounting experience, including internships.
• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, PivotTables, and data analysis functions.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

Preferred

• Experience or internship within media, entertainment, advertising, production, or creative industries.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Exposure to production accounting or project-based accounting environments.
• CPA candidate or interest in pursuing professional accounting certification.
