Position Details Posting Number: F00486P Classification Title: Lecturer Position Title: Open Rank Lecturer - Computer Science Position Type: Full Time Faculty Posting Type: Internal/External Department: Computer Science College: College of Arts & Sciences Campus: Atlanta Position Description To support the Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT), the department invites candidates with teaching expertise and interest in Information Technology, specifically in the areas of Network Administration, System Administration, Database Administration, IT Security, IT Project Management, and IT Infrastructure Design. The expected teaching load is 24 credit hours per academic year, which may include laboratory instruction. Other duties include IT program coordination and service to the Department, College, University, or profession, student success, and outreach activities. Responsibilities Teach undergraduate courses in IT administration and related areas. Deliver 24 credit hours of instruction annually, including laboratory sessions. Coordinate IT program activities and departmental service. Support student success and conduct outreach activities. Required Education Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field at the time of appointment. Candidates with a Master’s degree in a field of Computing with substantial industry experience in Information Technology will also be considered. Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching undergraduate courses in person or online. Experience coordinating laboratory sessions and student activities. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to teach at the undergraduate level. Pre-Employment Requirements Criminal background check.
