Human Resources Assistant

Job Description Pacific Staffing is partnering with our Sacramento based client to identify a temporary Human Resources Assistant to support core Human Resources operations during a three-month assignment. This hybrid role is ideal for a detail-oriented HR professional with strong data-entry accuracy, employee support skills, and hands-on experience with HRIS platforms such as Paycor. The HR Assistant will provide essential support across employee data management, benefits coordination, onboarding, compliance, and general HR administration-helping the HR team maintain smooth operations during a high-volume period.
- Contract for 3 Months
- Hybrid | 2 Days Onsite
- Pay $26-$33/hour (DOE)
- Enter and maintain employee data including new hires, transfers, leadership changes, deductions, and terminations.
- Assist employees with login issues and password resets.
- Audit mandatory compliance requirements (TB, Flu, certifications, licenses).
- Complete employment verifications and support payroll with employee change forms.
- Sort and distribute department mail; respond to unemployment and disability claims.
- Manage the HR inbox and respond to general staff inquiries.
- Support onboarding in partnership with Recruiting and Engagement teams.
- Assist with monthly benefits eligibility and follow-up with newly eligible employees.
- Maintain and review employee benefit information; support annual Open Enrollment.
- Stay current on HR laws and compliance requirements.
- Perform additional HR duties as assigned.
- 2+ years of experience in HR or Benefits Administration.
- Experience with HRIS/payroll systems, preferably Paycor or similar.
- Knowledge of benefits administration, eligibility, enrollment, and qualifying life events.
- Experience with employment verification, unemployment/disability claims, and HR recordkeeping.
- Strong data-entry accuracy, organizational skills, and file auditing experience.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
