Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry

Minimum Experience

2 years of nursing experience required; first-time travelers are welcome to apply.

Patient Population

Adults to Geriatric patients.

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• NIHSS preferred

Unit Information

This position is located in a telemetry unit that manages a variety of diagnoses, including:

• Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
• Myocardial Infarction (MI) / Chest pain (Pre- and Post-catheterization)
• Dysrhythmias (Pre- and Post-device implants)
• Hypo-/Hypertension
• Pleural Effusion
• Sepsis
• Pulmonary Embolism (PE) / Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) / Vascular Issues

Staffing Ratio and Daily Census

The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4-5, with an average daily census of approximately 35 patients in a unit with 36 rooms.

Scrub color: Navy Blue

Availability Requirements

Maximum of 7 days of requested time off (RTO). Blackout dates include Spring Break (April 4th-12th). Travelers are expected to work every other weekend unless otherwise specified.

Floating and Call Requirements

Floating may be required within the facility/scope of practice as needed. No on-call requirements.

Holiday Requirements

If one major holiday occurs during the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work it. For two major holidays, the traveler must work both. For three major holidays, the expectation is to work two of them. Major holidays include:

• Memorial Day
• Independence Day
• Labor Day
• Thanksgiving/Black Friday
• Christmas Eve/Christmas Day
• New Year's Eve/New Year's Day

Compliance Requirements

Full compliance is required to ensure timely start dates. A delay in compliance may result in a pushback of two weeks due to the bi-weekly orientation schedule.

Clinical Screening Process

Candidates will undergo clinical screening to determine fit. If candidates pass and meet guidelines, they will be submitted for final decision by the unit manager. Clinical screens are conducted on a case-by-case basis.

Local Candidates

Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers.

Orientation

The number of Non-Billable Orientation (NBO) hours is determined by contract length, with variations based on assignment duration.

Work Schedule

This position requires a night shift of three 12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00).
