Staff Accountant

Job Description Job Description NextStep Recruiting has partnered with a construction services organization to identify a Staff Accountant in Fort Worth, TX. This role is fully onsite and will support project accounting, financial reporting, and day-to-day accounting operations within a growing, project-based business. This position is ideal for an early-career accounting professional who enjoys working with numbers, thrives in a deadline-driven environment, and wants to continue developing their accounting expertise within a collaborative team. Required: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field strongly preferred 2+ years of accounting experience within the construction industry Experience with project accounting, including WIP (Work in Progress), POC (Percentage of Completion), and job costing Experience supporting month-end close, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliations Advanced Excel skills including lookups, pivot tables, and data analysis Preferred: Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central or other large ERP platforms Background in construction, homebuilding, specialty contracting, or project-based environments Experience supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable functions Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset If you’re looking for an opportunity to grow your accounting career within a stable and expanding organization, we’d love to connect.
