Randstad is looking for a dependable Shipping and Receiving Specialist to join a busy distribution center team. In this full-time job, you will help keep daily operations running smoothly by managing both incoming deliveries and outgoing customer orders. Your main tasks will include unloading trucks on the loading dock, checking items for any damage, and making sure everything matches the purchase orders using scanners. For outgoing orders, you will pack items securely, create shipping labels, and use computer systems.

Responsibilities

A Shipping and Receiving team member is responsible for managing the seamless flow of goods entering and leaving the facility. This includes inspecting incoming freight, processing outgoing orders, updating inventory logs, and coordinating with carriers to ensure safe, accurate, and timely deliveries.

Inbound Logistics & Receiving

• Inspect and Verify: Unload incoming shipments, inspect goods for damages, defects, or missing items, and reconcile contents against purchase orders and packing slips.

• System Logging: Receive items into the warehouse management software (WMS) or inventory database using barcode/RF scanners.

• Dispute Resolution: Document and report any shipping discrepancies, overages, or damaged freight to vendors and carriers.

Outbound Logistics & Shipping

• Order Fulfillment: Pick, pack, wrap, and label outgoing products securely in compliance with company standards and carrier regulations.

• Documentation: Generate accurate shipping documents, including bills of lading (BOL), packing lists, and shipping labels using internal software.

• Carrier Coordination: Schedule freight pickups, coordinate with delivery drivers, and select optimal shipping methods or rates.
