Staff Accountant-Exempt

Positions are located on and worked from campus in Winter Park, Florida. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Process supplier invoices for payment, ensuring proper coding and approvals Post tenant receipts and reconcile accounts receivable Record journal entries, accruals, and adjustments Close books timely each month, ensuring all balance sheet accounts are reconciled and reviewed Prepare monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP within the required timeframe to ensure deadlines are met Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc reports for internal and external use Communicate and resolve invoice discrepancies with vendors, and other vendor communications Other duties and projects as assigned Other Responsibilities: Adheres to the policies and procedures of Full Sail University Maintains strict confidentiality of company and personnel information Demonstrates a strong commitment to the mission and values of the organization Adheres to company attendance standards Performs other duties as assigned Supervisory Responsibilities: No Competencies: High attention to detail and accuracy Strong communication and teamwork skills Comprehensive understanding of accounting practices, procedures, and GAAP Ability to efficiently and effectively multitask, managing multiple projects and deadlines Education and/or Experience: 3 - 5 years of experience in accounting Property management accounting experience preferred Associate or bachelor’s degree in business or accounting an advantage Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: n/a Computer/Equipment Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook Significant experience with ERP systems Workday experience preferred Environmental Factors/Physical Demands: Work is performed in an office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have the ability to maintain active customer and employee communication; access, input and retrieve information from the computer system; enter alphanumeric data into a computerized system often while listening on the telephone.
