Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor Nurse Lubbock, Texas. This position involves providing patient care on a newly opened acute care surgery, trauma, and emergency general surgery unit. The role requires float between units, adherence to specific clinical procedures including Epic electronic charting, and coverage for shifts with a patient ratio of approximately 4.5:1 during days, nights, and weekends.

Job Details

• Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid Texas state license, Compact license in hand at submission; at least 1 year of experience in Medical Surgical nursing; experience with patient ratios of 4.5:1 during days, nights, and weekends; certifications in ACLS and BLS; skills in managing bariatric surgery, BiPAP/CPAP, blood products, wound care, and various clinical procedures; familiarity with Epic electronic charting system
• Preferred Qualifications: Prior community hospital experience, trauma level II experience, and experience working in acute care surgery settings
• Float: Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: The facility is a short-term acute care center with 379 staffed beds, Level II trauma designation, and comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, radiology, and social services. The unit will support adult and geriatric patient populations with diverse diagnoses, including emergency general surgery and trauma cases. Candidates must be available to work 3 of the 5 major holidays and adhere to scheduled orientation hours.
