Lead complex metal forming for mission-critical parts

Join a leading metals manufacturer supporting the U.S. Navy and DoD. Compensation includes a base salary of $85k–$100k, two performance bonuses annually, exceptional benefits, and approved relocation assistance.

You start by translating new orders into detailed forge routings for the Primary Operations team—sequencing operations, defining heats, and specifying press parameters. Midday finds you on the floor, overseeing the technical aspects of forging and fine-tuning setups. In the afternoon, you collaborate with manufacturing and research engineers to crack tough forming challenges on new product introductions. You wrap by compiling clear, timely reports for project and engineering reviews, capturing process evaluations, cost analyses, and next steps for improvement.

• Create comprehensive forging plannings for Primary Operations, ensuring quality, throughput, and repeatability.
• Own the technical aspects of forging on the shop floor; guide parameter selection, die utilization, and press application.
• Improve existing processes and engineer first-time-right forging routes for new products.
• Prepare organized, on-time reports and summaries for project and engineering meetings.
• Perform process evaluations and cost analysis; collaborate with manufacturing and research personnel to align on performance, cost, and cycle-time requirements.
• Partner with manufacturing and research engineers to solve critical forming challenges tied to new product development.

• BS in Engineering (BSE or related) with 3–5 years of experience; or an Associate’s in Mechanical Engineering with 5–7 years in industrial manufacturing.
• Background in forging, foundry, and heat treatment strongly preferred.

• Excellent communication: reading, writing, listening, and comprehension.
• Fluency in interpreting blueprints, drawings, charts, tables, and technical work instructions.
• Strong project management and the ability to work independently.
• Problem-solving, organization, time management, conflict resolution, and planning strengths.
• Basic understanding of hydraulic systems and presses.
• Solid grasp of metallurgy and its application to hot working.
