An established owner-operator of commercial real estate is hiring a hands-on Controller to lead accounting and financial reporting across its portfolio. Reporting to the CFO, you'll take ownership of the books, the close process, and the accounting team.
What you'll own:
- All accounting operations: GL, AP, AR, cash, payroll oversight, fixed assets
- Multi-entity and partnership financial statements
- Retail lease accounting (base rent, percentage rent, CAM, recoveries, tenant reconciliations)
- Annual budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow projections
- Banking relationships, debt compliance, lender reporting
- Audit coordination, tax schedule prep, and internal controls
- Accounting systems oversight (MRI Software or similar)
- A small accounting team
What you bring:
- Bachelor's in accounting or finance; CPA preferred, not required
- 10+ years progressive accounting experience, 5+ in a senior management role
- Commercial real estate accounting experience strongly preferred
- Strong GAAP and partnership accounting knowledge
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
- MRI Software experience a plus
