Position Overview

Ensign Physical Therapy is seeking an experienced and dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our dynamic team in Jersey City, New Jersey. Work Environment

This full-time position operates onsite at a designated hospital facility in Jersey City. Our work hours run from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, although occasional flexibility may be necessary to meet the needs of our patients and clinic operations. Being part of a collaborative healthcare team, you will work closely with physical therapists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals dedicated to achieving optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver direct physical therapy treatments as instructed by the supervising physical therapist, ensuring adherence to the patient's individualized plan of care.
• Work directly with patients to relieve pain, facilitate rehabilitation, and help them regain maximum functionality through various therapeutic techniques.
• Provide guidance and support to patients during active and passive therapeutic exercises, muscle re-education, gait, transfer training, and prosthetic device training.
• Utilize various physical agents, including heat, cold, electricity, ultrasound, and massage techniques to promote healing and recovery.
• Monitor patients' responses to treatments and communicate any significant changes in condition to both the physical therapist and other relevant personnel.
• Instruct patients on the proper use and care of mobility aids like wheelchairs, braces, and crutches.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and records including therapy notes, progress evaluations, and conference notes, complying with prescribed timelines.
• Actively participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to organization-wide quality improvement initiatives.
• Undertake additional duties as needed to support clinic operations and patient care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be working with a diverse patient population ranging from individuals recovering from surgery to those managing chronic conditions. Your empathetic approach and commitment to patient-centered care will be essential in guiding individuals through their rehabilitation journeys and improving their physical wellness.

Qualifications

• A graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program with an Associate's degree in science or an applied science discipline recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association.
• Current licensure and certification according to the laws and regulations of the State of New Jersey.
• Certification in CPR that is up-to-date.
• A valid driver's license, access to a reliable vehicle, and insurance coverage compliant with state requirements.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years' experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant in a similar clinical setting, with a demonstrated ability to manage patient care effectively.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and familiarity with hospital protocols and procedures can be advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits
