Exciting Opportunity – Conflicts Attorney (J.D. Required) I am currently partnering with a leading international law firm seeking an experienced Conflicts Attorney to join its Risk Management and New Business Intake team. This is a highly visible role that offers the opportunity to work closely with attorneys, firm leadership, and business professionals on complex conflicts, ethics, and professional responsibility matters that directly impact the firm's ability to onboard new business and strategic lateral hires. Key Responsibilities: Conduct substantive review and analysis of new business intake matters, conflicts reports, lateral hire conflicts checks, Outside Counsel Guidelines (OCGs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and related risk management materials. Evaluate conflicts database results and provide recommendations regarding business clearance, ethical considerations, and potential conflicts resolution strategies. Serve as a trusted advisor to attorneys and internal stakeholders on conflicts of interest, ethical screens, client waivers, engagement terms, and related professional responsibility issues. Review, draft, and negotiate responses to Outside Counsel Guidelines and other client‑imposed engagement requirements in collaboration with attorneys and business professionals. Oversee the implementation and administration of ethical screens, ensuring compliance with applicable rules and regulations across multiple jurisdictions. Manage and support the firm's lateral conflicts review process, including analysis of incoming lateral candidates and coordination with attorneys and recruiting teams. Provide guidance and mentorship to conflicts professionals, reviewing work product, delivering feedback, and supporting professional development initiatives. Assist with the firm's RFP process by directing conflicts research efforts, reviewing results, and ensuring timely delivery of accurate information. Monitor emerging conflicts and risk management trends, helping identify opportunities to improve workflows, processes, and operational efficiencies. Partner with firm leadership on special projects, policy implementation, and strategic initiatives related to conflicts management and business intake operations. Qualifications: Juris Doctor (J.D.) required Active bar membership and good standing required Minimum of 3+ years of experience involving conflicts, ethics, risk management, business intake, legal research, or related areas Strong understanding of professional responsibility principles, conflicts analysis, ethical screening requirements, and business intake procedures Exceptional legal research, analytical, organizational, and written communication skills Experience working with conflicts management systems such as Intapp and legal research tools such as LexisNexis or Westlaw Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment Prior supervisory or leadership experience is highly valued Experience within a large national or international law firm environment is strongly preferred This role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated legal and ethical issues while serving as a key strategic resource within a highly respected law firm.
