Lateral Conflicts Attorney

The Lateral Conflicts Attorney will join the Conflicts & Business Review Department and support the Firm’s lateral hiring function. This role reports directly to the Associate Director of Lateral Conflicts. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive reviews of conflict questionnaires and conflict reports to identify and resolve potential business and ethical conflicts prior to lateral attorneys joining the Firm or transferring work to the Firm. Draft and review conflicts memoranda, waiver letters, and notice letters; advise on conflicts of interest analysis and related Firm policies; and communicate required next steps to lawyers and staff before a lateral attorney may join the Firm. Advise on issues under the rules of professional responsibility. Work with lateral candidates and Firm personnel to facilitate the onboarding of new hires and open transferring matters. Respond promptly to incoming inquiries and shifting priorities. Compare and analyze large volumes of information under tight deadlines. Work closely with the Associate Director of Lateral Conflicts and a team of Lateral Conflicts Attorneys. Other duties or projects may be assigned by the Associate Director of Lateral Conflicts or Director of Conflicts & New Business Intake. Qualifications Juris Doctorate (J.D.). Minimum three years of legal work experience after law school preferred. Active law license in the jurisdiction in which the candidate is located. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Exceptional critical thinking and problem‑solving skills. Strong organizational skills. Working knowledge of the rules of professional conduct. Demonstrate sound judgment, respond promptly, and perform well under pressure while adapting to changing priorities and deadlines. Prior conflicts experience, including reviewing conflict reports, researching corporate affiliations, drafting waivers, advising Firm lawyers on conflict or relationship issues and relevant Firm policies, and knowledge of conflict rules across U.S. and non‑U.S. jurisdictions is preferred. Additional Information Primary availability during business hours from 8:30am to 5:00pm (EST) with flexibility to work outside of this standard schedule as needed. Periodic on‑call rotation required. Remote work is an option, subject to location approval by the Firm. Occasional travel to the Atlanta office may be required. Full‑time annualized salary range: $145,000 – $160,000.
