Logistics Manager Position Summary: The Logistics Manager is responsible for all inbound and outbound operations at the Zentis (Plymouth, IN) facility. This role leads daily warehouse and logistics activities, including shipping and receiving, inventory control and management, pre‑production staging of raw materials and finished goods, communication with Customer Service, transportation coordination, warehouse layout design, maintenance of quality standards, inventory rotation, supervision of warehouse employees, and staging of raw materials and finished goods. The incumbent supports internal and external customers and drives process improvement initiatives. Responsibilities include staffing, employee development, systems platform enhancement, cross‑functional collaboration, resource acquisition, and striving toward the plant’s customer service, safety, quality, productivity, employee development, and cost reduction objectives. The manager also provides resources and support to foster a positive food safety culture. Primary Responsibilities Manage daily functions and processes for the warehouse, material handling, shipping, and receiving operations, including safety, material flow, inventory control, and warehouse management. Coordinate receiving/shipping functions to ensure high levels of customer service. Facilitate production by pre‑staging/pre‑weighing raw materials before batch initiation. Ship materials to ensure on‑time, in‑full delivery to customers in coordination with customer service, quality, and transportation carriers. Partner with Customer Service, Production, Quality, and other internal functions to meet/exceed customer expectations. Partner with Purchasing/Supply Chain to assist in inventory control and management. Provide effective leadership for supervisory staff, including coaching, counseling, training, and performance reviews. Ensure timely and accurate receipt and put‑away of incoming materials in the SAP system. Maintain organized storage of all materials, conduct cycle counts, audit and reconcile inventories, and focus on continuous improvement. Ensure warehouse cleanliness, high housekeeping standards, and execution of safety and food safety processes as part of the HACCP team. Formal Education Required BA or BS degree in a relevant field. Specific Experience and Key Knowledge Requirements 3‑5 years warehouse management experience with a focus on inventory control and management. 1‑3 years experience in food manufacturing. 1‑2 years experience in inbound/outbound logistics. Lean or Six Sigma experience preferred. Experience with SAP or other sophisticated ERP systems. Ability to assemble, develop, motivate, and lead a high‑performance team. Ability to work in a high‑stress, complex environment. Ability to develop mutually respectful relationships at all levels internally and externally. Ability to make routine decisions and alert management when senior approval is required. Ability to manage against established budgets. Ability to provide required reports in a timely and accurate manner. Ability to utilize allotted space and systems in an effective, creative manner.
