Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician

Job Description

This role provides facilities-related mechanical, utility, and mission-critical infrastructure services for a complex biotech manufacturing, distribution, R&D, and data center site. The Facilities Maintenance Technician installs, repairs, troubleshoots, and maintains equipment and facility systems, supports GMP documentation, responds to critical alarms, and helps ensure reliable operation of building, utility, and IT support systems. The position also supports the development of procedures, participates in audits, and mentors less experienced team members to maintain a safe, compliant, and highly reliable environment.

Essential Skills

• At least 6–8 years of related facilities or utilities maintenance experience, including a minimum of 3 years in a GMP-regulated biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or life sciences manufacturing environment.
• Proven working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration equipment and systems.
• Working knowledge of IT data center and mission-critical systems, including CRAC units and UPS systems.
• Ability to comply with FDA, EH&S, cGMP, and ISO regulations.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and utility systems.
• Strong working knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS).
• Strong working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
• Experience contributing to GMP documentation, including Preventive Maintenance procedures, Standard Operating Procedures, and work order records compliant with Good Documentation Practice (GDP).
• Experience supporting emergency response, critical system recovery, and after-hours or on-call maintenance response.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Frederick, MD.

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $31.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Frederick,MD.
