Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a part-time Finance and Accounting Assistant for Mason Gross School of the Arts ( MGSA ). Reporting directly to the Budget Analyst Supervisor, this position provides support in business and accounting for the MGSA Business Office. Among the key duties of the position are the following: Prepares a variety of financial transactions, including and not limited to, procurement, journal entries and project cost adjustments, and payroll. Reconciles expenditures and commitments and maintain financial tracking database Prepares and distributes recurring financial reports. Serves as a liaison with Accounts Payable, Payroll, Procurement, and other administrative offices to resolve financial and operation matters. FLSA Nonexempt Salary Details $25 - $30 per hour Offer Information The final salary offer may be determined by several factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and expertise, and availability of department or grant funds to support the position. Payroll Designation PeopleSoft Terms of Appointment Temporary Staff Appointment - Hourly Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience in budget, accounting or finance. Two years of relevant experience. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles ( GAAP ). Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial reporting systems. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
