Staff Accountant / Staff Auditor

Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Pay: $40,000 - $50,000 per year
Job Type: Full-Time
About the Opportunity

Express Employment Professionals is recruiting for a Staff Accountant / Staff Auditor position with a Pittsburgh-area organization. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in accounting, auditing, financial reporting, and tax preparation while working with a variety of organizations and industries.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
Auditing experience preferred
QuickBooks Desktop and Online experience preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Reliable transportation for occasional on-site assignments
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Accounting Responsibilities

Record financial transactions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, revenues, and expenses
Perform bank reconciliations
Post journal entries
Generate financial statements and variance reports
Respond to client and stakeholder inquiries
Perform financial analysis and forecasting
Develop financial dashboards and reporting tools
Create and improve internal control procedures
Provide written summaries of financial variances
Make recommendations regarding policies, procedures, and best practices

Auditing Responsibilities

Perform substantive testing of payroll, travel, inventory, leases, assets, liabilities, disbursements, property, and equipment
Prepare audit, review, and compilation financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Evaluate and test internal controls over financial reporting
Provide audit feedback and recommendations
Assist with additional audit-related projects as assigned

Tax Preparation Experience

Experience preparing and filing Forms 1040, 1120, 1120S, 1065, and 990 is preferred.
