Fundraising Manager

A small 501(c)(3) animal shelter in eastern North Carolina, managed by a Board of Directors, is seeking a part-time Fundraising Manager to help grow fundraising efforts in support of homeless animals. The Fundraising Manager will work with Board leadership, shelter staff, and volunteers to support the shelter’s capital campaign, annual fundraising, donor outreach, grants, sponsorships, and special events. Key Responsibilities Assist with fundraisingcampaigns, including the capital campaign, annual appeal, grants,sponsorships, and events. Identify, cultivate, and steward donors, major gift prospects, foundations, businesses, and community partners. Write donor materials, including appeal letters, emails, campaign copy, grant materials, and event communications. Research grant opportunities and assist with applications, supporting materials, and reporting. Maintain donor records, gifts, contacts, campaign metrics, and fundraising reports. Provide regular updates to Board leadership and support fundraising planning and committee work. Promote the shelter’s mission, success stories, programs, and community impact. Qualifications Previous experience in fundraising, nonprofit work, grant writing, event planning, marketing, public relations, or animal welfare is preferred. Strong writing, communication, organizational, relationship‑building, and basic computer skills are important. Microsoft Office, Google applications, and donor database or CRM experience are helpful. A genuine passion for helping homeless animals is essential. Some evening and weekend hours are expected for donor meetings, community outreach, and fundraising events.
