Business Analyst – Kahuna / Oracle Talent Systems

Location: Houston, TX 77043

Job Summary

We are seeking a Business Analyst to support the configuration, maintenance, testing, and ongoing administration of Kahuna and its integration with Oracle Talent Profiles .

The Business Analyst will translate approved business and functional requirements into system configurations, maintain skills libraries and mappings, support user and role assignments, and assist with testing, data validation, releases, and system issue resolution.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, attention to detail, and experience working with business systems and data.

Key Responsibilities

• Convert approved business and functional requirements into Kahuna configurations.
• Maintain skills libraries, mappings, role assignments, and related system content.
• Update system content and configurations as business requirements evolve.
• Support the rollout of Kahuna to new employee populations or business groups.
• Configure Kahuna workflows and system settings based on approved requirements.
• Support system testing, validation, and user acceptance activities.
• Partner with Oracle teams during integration testing and troubleshooting.
• Validate data flows between Kahuna and Oracle Talent Profiles .
• Manage user access, security roles, and system permissions.
• Maintain system interfaces, integrations, and extensions.
• Monitor data quality and investigate and resolve system or data-related issues.
• Coordinate system releases, enhancements, and vendor support activities.
• Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Develop trend analysis and reports to monitor key performance indicators and compare results against internal and external benchmarks.
• Identify operational improvement opportunities related to capacity, efficiency, and overall effectiveness.
• Implement and monitor process improvements to ensure successful outcomes.
• Assist with resource utilization and identify opportunities for cost savings.
• Support new or expanded services and business initiatives through basic analysis and process evaluation.
• May provide guidance or supervision to clerical/support staff as required.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of relevant business experience ; healthcare experience is preferred.
• Knowledge and understanding of financial and/or business practices supporting organizational operations.
• Strong data-mining, analytical, and problem-solving skills .
• Experience working with business applications, databases, spreadsheets, and structured data.
• Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong computer skills, including advanced knowledge of:
  • Spreadsheets
  • Databases
  • Word processing applications
• Ability to analyze business processes, identify inefficiencies, and recommend practical improvements.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.
• Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and system partners.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Kahuna or similar skills/job architecture platforms.
• Experience with Oracle Talent Profiles or Oracle HCM environments.
• Experience with HR technology, talent management, skills management, or workforce systems.
• Healthcare business or operations experience.
• Experience supporting system implementations, integrations, testing, and releases.
• Experience with data validation, data quality management, and system troubleshooting.
