Accounting Assistant

Job Responsibilities

• The basic requirement is experience in this field of accounting, and the person walks fast.
• Handle daily incoming and outgoing payments and maintain accurate payment records.
• Collect, organize, and review invoices, receipts, bills, and other accounting documents.
• Understand the business purpose of each transaction and provide clear supporting information to the accountant for proper bookkeeping and account classification.
• Submit accounting documents and supporting records to the accountant in a timely and organized manner.
• Monitor accounts receivable and follow up with customers on outstanding invoices and overdue payments.
• Send payment reminders and communicate with customers regarding payment status when necessary.
• Assist with matching customer payments to invoices and maintaining accurate accounts receivable records.
• Maintain organized financial and accounting files for the Houston office.
• Coordinate with the sales, warehouse, and other internal teams to clarify transactions or obtain missing documentation.
• Assist with other basic accounting and administrative tasks as needed.

Job Requirements

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• Previous experience in accounting support, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, or a similar role preferred.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles, invoices, payments, accounts receivable, and expense documentation.
• Comfortable communicating with customers regarding outstanding and overdue payments.
• Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other common office software.
• Experience with ERP or accounting systems is preferred.
• Able to work independently and communicate effectively with both internal teams and external accountants.
• Must be able to work on-site at our Houston office.
