About the Role

The Product Transformation team is looking for a Senior Data Analytics Engineer to help transform how technology, product, and engineering performance is measured, understood, and communicated across the organization.

In this role, you will bring together data from a fragmented ecosystem of business intelligence platforms, enterprise systems, APIs, databases, and manually maintained data sources. You will turn that information into clear, actionable insights that help leaders understand development performance, identify bottlenecks, evaluate trends, and measure progress across product and engineering transformation initiatives.

This is not solely a dashboard-development role. We are looking for someone who can independently investigate data, identify what matters, challenge assumptions, uncover trends and root causes, and build a compelling narrative for senior and executive audiences.
Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable analytics and reporting solutions using Power BI , SQL, and enterprise data sources.
• Integrate structured and unstructured data from multiple systems, including APIs, databases, BI platforms, spreadsheets, and manually maintained data sources.
• Build executive-ready scorecards, trend analyses, metrics, and visualizations that communicate a clear business story.
• Analyze product, Agile, engineering, and development lifecycle data to identify bottlenecks, trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Define and measure engineering and product performance metrics that demonstrate progress across transformation initiatives.
• Develop data models and support ETL/ELT processes required to combine information from disparate sources.
• Establish connectivity across systems using technologies and methods such as REST and GraphQL APIs, SQL, JSON/XML, webhooks, JDBC/ODBC, data connectors, and event-streaming platforms .
• Perform root cause and exploratory analysis rather than relying exclusively on predefined reporting requirements.
• Translate complex technical findings and data-quality issues into clear insights for non-technical and executive stakeholders.
• Create polished visualizations that can be incorporated directly into executive presentations and leadership communications.
• Partner across Product, Engineering, AI, Strategy, and operating-model teams to develop consistent measurements and reporting.
• Identify gaps in existing data and reporting processes and recommend practical solutions.
• Work independently in an evolving environment, defining analytical approaches and driving work forward without detailed step-by-step direction.

Minimum Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering, data analytics, business intelligence, reporting, or a related technology discipline.
• Advanced experience developing enterprise analytics and reporting solutions using Power BI .
• Strong proficiency in SQL , data modeling, data transformation, and ETL/ELT concepts.
• Experience integrating data across multiple platforms and data sources.
• Experience with data connectivity technologies, including APIs and enterprise data connectors.
• Experience developing advanced scorecards, trend reporting, and executive-level analytics.
• Experience working with Jira and analyzing Agile, product, engineering, or technology-delivery metrics.
• Demonstrated ability to identify trends, investigate anomalies, perform root cause analysis, and translate findings into actionable insights.
• Ability to communicate complex data and technical issues clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to operate independently and lead analytical work in an ambiguous, transformation-focused environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Tableau or comparable enterprise visualization platforms.
• Experience within Wells Fargo, particularly in data analytics, reporting, product, or technology organizations.
• Experience working within a large financial institution or corporate banking environment.
• Experience analyzing software-development lifecycle, Agile, engineering, or product operating-model performance.
• Experience with AI-enabled analytics or analytics supporting AI and technology-transformation initiatives.
• Experience working with environments where enterprise data sources must be combined with manually maintained datasets.

You will be comfortable working with imperfect and disconnected data, independently developing solutions to bring that information together, and creating concise, executive-ready analytics that demonstrate where the organization is improving, where bottlenecks remain, and where action is needed.
