General Scope of Position:

The Assistant Controller is responsible for coordinating the daily accounting operations of Sefar Inc., including general ledger management, month-end closing, balance sheet reconciliations, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance. This position ensures the accuracy and completeness of financial records, maintains effective internal controls, and supports the Controller in meeting corporate reporting requirements.

The Assistant Controller works closely with accounting personnel to coordinate activities, review work, resolve accounting issues, and improve departmental processes. While this position has no direct reports, it provides technical guidance and helps ensure accounting responsibilities are completed accurately and on time.

The Controller retains responsibility for employee supervision, financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and overall financial leadership.

Job Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.

· Minimum of 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.

· Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, month-end closing, balance sheet reconciliations, and U.S. GAAP.

· Manufacturing accounting experience preferred.

· CPA or CMA certification preferred.

· Experience with financial reporting, tax compliance, audits, and internal controls.

· Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

· Experience with ERP accounting systems; knowledge of LucaNet and Power BI preferred.

· Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently.

· Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate accounting activities with other employees and departments.

Job Responsibilities:

All Sefar employees are responsible for the quality of their work through understanding and fulfilling customer requirements and demonstrating the company’s core values.

1. Coordinate daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and related accounting activities.

2. Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes, ensuring accurate and timely completion.

3. Review journal entries, accruals, account adjustments, and general ledger activity for accuracy and completeness.

4. Manage the balance sheet reconciliation process, including reviewing reconciliations, investigating discrepancies, and resolving outstanding items.

5. Coordinate intercompany accounting activities, including account reconciliations and resolution of differences.

6. Maintain fixed asset accounting records, including additions, disposals, depreciation, and reconciliations.

7. Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules for review by the Controller.

8. Support corporate financial reporting, including preparation and validation of information submitted through LucaNet.

9. Coordinate federal, state, and local tax compliance, including sales and use taxes, business registrations, regulatory filings, and government reporting.

10. Coordinate the financial administration of employee benefit plans, including 401(k) accounting, funding, reconciliations, and compliance requirements, in cooperation with Human Resources.

11. Support corporate insurance activities, workers’ compensation reporting, and other administrative compliance requirements.

12. Manage daily treasury activities, including cash monitoring, bank reconciliations, wire transfers, ACH payments, and banking controls.

13. Coordinate financial statement, tax, benefit plan, insurance, and other audits, including preparation of supporting schedules and documentation.

14. Maintain and improve accounting policies, procedures, documentation, and internal controls.

15. Provide financial information and supporting analyses to assist the Controller with budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and financial planning.

16. Identify accounting issues, financial risks, and opportunities for improved efficiency, communicating recommendations to the Controller.

17. Perform special assignments and other related duties as requested by the Controller.
