Truck Shop Mechanic-2nd Shift

Job Title: 2nd Shift Truck MechanicHandwerk Contractors (Harrisburg Division), a division of the H&K Group, Inc., is looking for 2nd Shift Truck Mechanics. This self-motivated, organized, competent, and professional individual repairs and maintains electric, diesel, and gasoline vocational trucks.Job ResponsibilitiesPerform all work adhering to OSHA and H&K Safety policiesReads job order and observes and listens to truck or equipment in operation to determine malfunction and to plan work procedures.Installs new ignition systems, aligns front wheels, changes, or recharges batteries, and replaces transmissions and other parts.Replaces gas or diesel engines.Examines protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks and equipment, and adjusts.Lubricates and services vehiclesFabricates special lifting or towing attachments, hydraulic systems, shields, or other devices according to schematic drawings.Collision repair, sand, prep, and paintCompletes all standard maintenance on trucks and equipment and ensures state inspection requirements are met for cars, trucks, and trailersOther duties as assignedQualificationsOne-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school in diesel mechanics or a related field OR 2 years of related experience and/or trainingEquivalent combinations of education and experience may be consideredClass A or B CDL or ability to obtain within one yearClean driving recordCustomer Service and TeamworkMathematical SkillsWilling and able to work a 2nd shift scheduleAbility to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as neededAbility to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience4 years of related experience and/or trainingState Inspection licenseExperience working in heavy civil construction, road construction, or quarriesOSHA, MSHA, or other relevant safety certificationsPhysical DemandsOccasionally required to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, climb, balance, and crawlFrequently required to stoop, crouch, kneel and use hands to finger, feel, and graspOccasionally lift and/or move up to 75 poundsWork EnvironmentNoise level is loud at timesAt times required to work outdoors in all environmentsHours regularly exceed 40 in a week and 8 in a dayH&K Group, Inc.'s Harrisburg Division offers complete heavy civil construction and contracting services to the central Pennsylvania region.H&K Group, Inc. provides complete heavy civil contracting and construction materials solutions with safety, speed, quality, efficiency, and value.H&K Group, Inc. does not discriminate in employment opportunities or practices on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, disability, veterans' status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
