RN - Intensive Care Unit Night Shift

Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered nursing care in a setting that exemplifies best practices and outstanding customer service. This role fosters relationship-based care and upholds professional nursing standards guided by the ANA Code of Ethics, Nursing Process, and regulatory agency standards. Acute care departments include Medical, Surgery, Emergency, Intensive Care, Childbirth, Pediatric, Operating Room, Perianesthesia, Endoscopy/GI, and Cardiac Cath Lab.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Effectively manage time and resources, prioritizing critical tasks while balancing short- and long-term needs.
  • Apply new knowledge and skills from ongoing education to promote cost-saving and quality care.
  • Make patient care assignments based on nurse expertise, patient acuity, and technical requirements.
  • Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills with patients, visitors, physicians, and colleagues, embodying core values such as respect, integrity, collaboration, empathy, and courage.
  • Communicate clearly to manage expectations and provide timely responses to patient needs.
  • Maintain a therapeutic environment by minimizing noise and supporting healthcare students and their programs.
  • Prioritize safety for patients, guests, associates, and self by adhering to Just Culture principles, HIPAA, and national safety standards.
  • Engage in professional growth through certifications, advanced degrees, and leadership opportunities.
  • Foster teamwork by motivating and guiding colleagues, encouraging cooperation, and providing mentoring and feedback.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with organizational and regulatory guidelines.

Education and Experience:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school or, if unaccredited, a minimum of five years acute care nursing experience.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or required within five years of hire; enrollment in an accelerated MSN program is acceptable.
  • Area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, or specialty certifications to be obtained and maintained upon hire.

Licensure:

  • Current active Registered Nurse license as required by the state board.

Night shift (3rd shift), full-time, 36 hours per week. Serving the Midwest region of the United States.
