Job Summary: Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered nursing care in a dynamic acute care environment that exemplifies best practices and outstanding customer service. This role fosters relationship-based care and upholds professional nursing standards guided by the ANA Code of Ethics, Nursing Process, and regulatory requirements.

Work Areas: Acute care settings including Medical and Surgery Units, Emergency Departments, Intensive Care, Childbirth Center, Pediatric Unit, Operating Room, Perianesthesia, Endoscopy/GI, and Cardiac Cath Lab.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Effectively manage time and resources, prioritizing critical tasks while balancing short- and long-term goals.
• Apply new knowledge and skills from ongoing education to improve patient care and promote cost-saving practices.
• Make patient care assignments based on nurse expertise, patient acuity, and technical needs.
• Deliver excellent guest relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and colleagues, embodying core values such as respect, integrity, collaboration, empathy, and courage.
• Communicate clearly to manage expectations and provide timely responses to patient needs.
• Maintain a therapeutic environment by minimizing noise and supporting healthcare students and their programs.
• Prioritize safety for patients, guests, associates, and self by adhering to national safety standards, HIPAA, and Just Culture principles.
• Engage in professional growth through leadership opportunities, certifications, advanced degrees, and shared governance.
• Foster teamwork by motivating and guiding colleagues, encouraging cooperation, and mentoring others.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with organizational policies and regulatory guidelines.

Education and Experience:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program, or alternatively, five years of acute care nursing experience if from a non-accredited program.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or required within five years of hire; enrollment in an accelerated MSN program is acceptable.
• Completion and maintenance of area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, or specialty certifications.

Current active Registered Nurse license as required by the state nursing board.
