Head Men's Soccer Coach - Dean College

Dean College seeks an experienced and dynamic Head Men’s Soccer Coach to lead its NCAA Division III men’s soccer program within the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC). The Head Men’s Soccer Coach will be responsible for building and sustaining a competitive program that emphasizes athletic excellence, sportsmanship, leadership, and academic success. In addition, this position will manage the College’s JV Men’s Soccer program and supervise the program’s staff. This role requires a motivated and strategic leader with strong recruiting, organizational, and communication skills to foster a positive team culture, mentor student‑athletes, and represent the College and its athletics program with professionalism and integrity. The ideal candidate will be committed to enhancing the student‑athlete experience while advancing the success and visibility of Dean College Men’s Soccer. The Head Men’s Soccer Coach is responsible for all aspects of the program, including player development, game preparation, film analysis, scouting, recruiting, academic and conduct monitoring, strength and conditioning oversight, and administrative operations. The Head Coach is also responsible for maintaining compliance with the policies, rules, and regulations of the NCAA, GNAC, and Dean College. This is a 10‑month, full‑time, exempt position with a salary range of $58,000–$62,000. Position Responsibilities Include: Direct the recruitment efforts for the men’s soccer program by identifying and attracting a diverse group of student‑athletes who demonstrate strong academic and athletic potential and who align with the values and culture of Dean College. Design and implement a strategic plan to sustain and elevate the men’s soccer program, including excellence in recruitment, player development, coaching, game preparation, and student‑athlete support. Provide academic oversight, support, and accountability to ensure student‑athlete retention, eligibility, and graduation. Supervise and mentor assistant coaches to ensure alignment with program philosophy and performance goals. Plan and lead all practices, skill development sessions, and strength and conditioning activities. Manage all aspects of game‑day planning, scouting, and in‑game decision‑making. Coordinate travel logistics and scheduling for all home and away contests. Cultivate a positive, inclusive, and team‑oriented culture that values sportsmanship, academic achievement, and athletic performance. Work collaboratively with athletic administrators and campus partners to manage budgets, scheduling, and compliance with all institutional, GNAC, and NCAA policies. Develop and maintain strong relationships with alumni, donors, and the broader community to generate support for the program. Assist with departmental operations and other duties as assigned in support of the Athletics and Recreation Department. Actively participate in department, college, and conference meetings and events. Other duties as assigned and/or required. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred. Collegiate head coaching and/or high‑level assistant coaching experience strongly preferred. Minimum of three years of coaching experience at the collegiate level. Proven ability to recruit and retain high‑performing student‑athletes. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to foster a positive team culture and support student‑athlete development. Commitment to NCAA Division III philosophy and the mission of Dean College. Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast‑paced environment. Travel is required for recruiting and competition.
