Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Neuro ICU night shift position requiring KY or compact RN license and prior neuro or ICU experience.

Details

• Work in a 19-bed Neuro ICU within a hospital setting
• Cares for CVA, neurosurgical, carotid surgery, and carotid stent patients
• Supports comprehensive stroke program critical care placement needs
• Also cares for surgical post-op, cardiac interventions, sepsis, general surgery, and complex care ICU patients
• 12-hour night shift schedule, third shift
• 36 hours per week across 3 days per week
• FTE of 0.9
• Assignment length of 13 weeks

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or compact)
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation required
• ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred
• Minimum 1-2 years of staff ICU experience prior to traveling
• Recent acute/critical care travel experience preferred
• Strong Neuro ICU experience preferred; ICU nurses with neuro patient care experience will be considered
• Current references from unit leadership (manager, coordinator, or director) required

Additional Information

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document in accordance with RN scope of practice and hospital policy
• Implement patient care therapies and procedures with clinical autonomy within scope of practice
• Coordinate admission, transfer, and discharge activities including discharge teaching and care coordination
• Provide patient and family-centered education tailored to culture, age, and comprehension level
• Delegate and oversee patient care tasks performed by other team members
• Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities and core measures
• Promote a positive, healing environment through collaborative teamwork with the interprofessional care team
• First-time travelers may be considered given relevant ICU staff experience
