Silgan Containers is seeking an Accounting Clerk to join our Modesto, CA, plant to support accounts payable, inventory management, and month-end closing functions.
The Accounting Clerk's compensation for this California-based position is competitive and based on experience, education, and skills, typically ranging from $46,500 to $58,200 per year.

What You Will Do as an Accounting Clerk:
- Inventory & Production Management: Input and audit production data, inventory adjustments, and cycle counts in ERP; explain variances and train personnel on proper procedures.
- Accounting Support: Assist with monthly close tasks, prepare journal entries, generate reports, and complete reconciliations under US GAAP and SOX controls.
- Administrative & Transaction Processing: Handle customer invoicing, accounts payable, special projects, and routine clerical tasks such as filing, scanning, and document management.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Interact with various departments to gather accounting data, resolve issues, and ensure accuracy across processes.
What You Bring:
- Associate's degree in accounting, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 1-2 years of accounting experience, preferred in Manufacturing environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong time management skills.
- Proficiency in using ERP software such as Oracle, SAP, JD Edwards is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Flexibility to work additional hours during peak periods as needed.
