Physical Therapist Orthopedics

The Outpatient Orthopedics Physical Therapist is responsible for evaluating and treating patients with a variety of orthopedic conditions, including post-operative cases, joint replacements, spine rehabilitation, sports injuries, and general musculoskeletal disorders. The role involves developing individualized treatment plans, delivering evidence-based manual therapy, educating patients and families, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team to help patients regain mobility, reduce pain, and return to their daily activities. Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and treat post-operative orthopedic patients and those with total joint replacements, neck and back pain, spine rehabilitation needs, sports injuries, and general musculoskeletal conditions.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments.
• Deliver evidence-based, one-on-one physical therapy care, including manual therapy techniques when appropriate.
• Educate patients and their families about treatment plans and rehabilitation processes.
• Document patient care and progress accurately using electronic medical records (EMR).
• Collaborate closely with an experienced rehabilitation team to optimize patient outcomes.
• Participate in community outreach and wellness initiatives to promote health and rehabilitation awareness.

• Graduate of a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapy program.
• Maryland Physical Therapy license or eligibility.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

• Experience in outpatient orthopedic physical therapy.
• Manual therapy experience.

• Work primarily in an outpatient orthopedic setting.
• Collaborative environment with a focus on patient-centered care.
• May involve community outreach and wellness program participation.

• Typical outpatient clinic schedule; specific shifts and hours may vary based on facility needs.
• Shift assignments determined by patient volume and clinic hours.
