Job Description Summary Industrial Plumbing Steamfitter will be responsible for supporting the operation, maintenance and improvement of system‑controlled robotics, steam systems, machine tools and equipment. Essential Responsibilities Identify and evaluate the condition of hydraulic, steam and HVAC equipment and determine strategy to repair and rebuild. Own preventative maintenance, inspections and extensive repairs; diagnose problems, plan and complete work required, identify and order parts. Install & repair pipes, fixtures, and valves for water, gas, steam, and air systems. Install supports for pipes, equipment, and fixtures prior to installation. Assemble fittings and valves for installation. Modify length of pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing materials as needed. Use saws and pipe cutters as necessary. Install heating and air‑conditioning systems, including water heaters. Collaborate with contractors, construction workers, electricians, pipefitters, and steamfitters in installing and repairing plumbing systems. Test plumbing systems for leaks and other problems. Analyze problems and identify appropriate tools and materials for repair. Use a CMMS documenting the problem and summary of actions taken. Requirements AAS degree in Mechanical or Plant Utilities Technology. AOS degree in HVAC or Construction & Maintenance. Military Training Course in a related field. Three years of work experience in a Manufacturing Facility (with references). Three years of proven experience in Commercial HVAC service and installation. Completion of two years of a Plumber/Steamfitter Apprentice Program (considered third‑year apprentice). Journeyman Steamfitter. Licensed NYS Plumber. Eligibility Requirements Ability and willingness to work off‑shift and weekends. Ability and willingness to work second shift (3:00 PM to 11:00 PM). Desired Characteristics Minimum three years work experience in a Manufacturing Facility in a technical maintenance role. Strong mechanical and hydraulic fundamentals and safety knowledge (schematics, precision measurement tools, LOTO). Pay and Benefits The base pay range for this position is $35.68/hr – $43.89/hr. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for contractually negotiated general wage increases and COLA increases, and for a $1.00 per hour Night Shift Bonus. The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
