Automation Controls Technician

Becton Dickinson seeks an Automation Controls Technician to diagnose and repair production equipment electrical and controls issues at a manufacturing facility in Canaan, Connecticut. The role involves troubleshooting machinery, supporting preventive maintenance, and collaborating with production teams on night shift.
Responsibilities
- Respond to production floor calls to diagnose and repair electrical machinery issues
- Troubleshoot PLC systems, robotic systems, and plant automation equipment
- Perform electrical and mechanical repairs on material handling systems
- Maintain detailed work logs and communicate repair status to production leadership
- Support preventive maintenance activities on production machinery
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED plus 2+ years electrical experience
- Proficiency in reading electrical schematics and troubleshooting circuits
- Experience with PLC programming and ladder logic
- Knowledge of electrical measurement tools and safe work practices
- Familiarity with robotics, vision systems, and VFDs preferred
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Reliable attendance for night shift 7 PM–7 AM rotation
Compensation: $30.60 - $49.00 USD Hourly
