Chief Estimator

Experience & Salary Experience: Senior Level Salary: $170,000 - $200,000 per year Responsibilities Oversee and manage the entire estimating process for all projects from conception to closeout. Prepare detailed and comprehensive cost estimates, budgets, and work timetables. Interpret and review system drawings to identify potential cost issues and provide cost-effective solutions. Interface with clients, vendors, and project stakeholders on an ongoing basis to ensure accurate estimates. Analyze and evaluate bidding risks and strategies; present estimate and related information to project teams and clients as needed. Lead training and development of the estimating team for continuous improvement and operational excellence. Collaborate with project management to follow up on bids and budgets to close the business. Stay updated with the latest estimating technology and industry best practices. Qualifications A minimum of 10 years of estimating experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role. A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Proven experience in construction management and understanding of the engineering industry. Exceptional project management and team leadership skills. Proficiency in estimating software and related computer software. Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present information to clients and project teams. Attention to detail and a commitment to quality work. Strong negotiation skills and ability to handle complex pricing negotiations with vendors and suppliers.
