Job Opportunity – Acute Leukemia and Hematology RN – Ohio

Start Date: November 2, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts (days/nights); shifts assigned every 4-week scheduling period based on departmental needs; variable weekend coverage; goal staffing ratio 1:4 (may flex to 1:5)

Highlights:

• Specialized acute leukemia unit caring for newly diagnosed patients in a high-acuity medical oncology setting
• High-volume blood product administration, IV antibiotics, and electrolyte management
• 24-bed unit with average daily census of 22 patients; adults and geriatric population
• Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including rapid response teams, pharmacy, and social services
• 72-hour orientation with strong emphasis on infection prevention and patient safety protocols
• Float opportunities to other medical-surgical oncology units within the facility

Requirements:

• Current, valid RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at submission)
• Minimum 2 years of overall nursing experience required
• Current inpatient hematology oncology experience (must be working consistently within the last 12 months)
• Medical-surgical oncology experience with documented leukemia/blood dyscrasias experience (required)
• Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• BLS, ACLS, and ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Certification (required)
• NIHSS certification (preferred)
• Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Proficiency with telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line management, PICC lines, and blood product administration
• Epic charting experience required
• 2 professional references: one from manager/director or formal leadership; charge RN acceptable as second reference
