Development Project Manager

Project Development ManagerGatesource HR is partnering with a leading global player in mineral processing and engineering solutions to identify a Project Development Manager to drive growth across North America. This is a frontline, field-based commercial role focused on building business through early engagement at customer sites, not responding to inbound tenders. You will work directly with plant operations and project stakeholders to identify problems, shape solutions, and convert them into revenue-generating projects, including engineering studies, plant upgrades, and modular processing solutions. Success in this role requires a balance of technical depth, commercial ownership, and relationship-building, with a clear focus on delivering measurable revenue outcomes.Responsibilities and tasks:Be present where the work happensSpend significant time on-site with customers across North AmericaIdentify operational challenges and improvement opportunities firsthandBuild relationships with plant managers, process engineers, and project leadersEngage early, before projects are formally defined or tenderedBuild and close a strong pipelineDevelop and manage a pipeline across: Engineering studies Brownfield upgrades Modular plant and capital solutionsOwn a personal revenue target and deliver against itDrive complex sales cycles involving technical and commercial stakeholdersMaintain accurate forecasts and CRM disciplineTurn operational challenges into projectsTranslate plant issues into scoped, costed solutionsPartner with engineering teams to develop executable proposalsLead opportunities from concept through negotiation to contract awardDrive adoption of engineered & modular solutionsPosition modular and capital equipment solutions within customer engagementsIdentify opportunities for plant expansions, upgrades, and retrofitsBuild long-term relationships that support repeat and follow-on businessProvide market feedback to support product and commercial strategyLead commercial strategy on opportunitiesQualify deals based on strategic fit, risk, and margin potentialDefine win strategies early in the pursuit processLead commercial discussions and negotiationsContribute to improving sales tools, messaging, and win ratesRequirements:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Metallurgy, Mineral Processing, or related field8–10+ years of experience across technical and commercial roles in: Engineering consulting EPC/EPCM Capital equipment or mining/mineral processingProven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targetsExperience developing business before formal RFP/tender stageBackground in plant upgrades, process improvements, or engineering studiesExperience selling or supporting capital equipment / modular solutionsWillingness to travel extensively across North America, and internationally as requiredBenefits:Remote job, candidates must be based in the USA with working rights.
